Tears of Themis: Farming S-Chips

In Tears of Themis, S-Chips are your go-to premium currency. You’ll use them to grab Tears of Themis for pulls, top up your AP when you’re running low, and refresh certain game modes. I’ve put together a simple, up-to-date plan that starts with the reliable daily and weekly sources, then moves into big one-time rewards, and finally covers those occasional extras so you can stretch your S-Chips as far as possible and get the most out of every pull.

Lock in your recurring income (daily/weekly)

Daily sign-ins & activeness tasks – Make sure you’re logging in every day and claiming your S-Chips on the days they appear in the sign-in rewards. Don’t forget to hit your daily and weekly activeness goals too. Just remember, you have to claim them manually before the reset or they’re gone.

HoYoLAB check-in – The HoYoLAB monthly check-in sometimes slips under the radar, but it’s basically free S-Chips just for clicking a button. It’s worth the 10 seconds.

Weekly must-dos:

  • Temple of Trials – Once you’ve unlocked the higher Areas, this becomes a steady source of S-Chips, up to 240, 300, 350, or even 400 a week depending on your progress. Spread it out over a few days or auto-complete if you’re busy, but always hit that cap.
  • Stellis Weekly Tasks – These are on the official S-Chip source list for a reason. Don’t let them slip through the cracks.

How much can you really earn? That depends on the month and the events running. For example, F2P players pulled in around 7,330 S-Chips in June 2025, and 20,032 in July 2025 thanks to generous event chains. Check the monthly income tracker to see the latest numbers, it’s a good motivator.

Finish all one-time S-Chip clears (high value per minute)

These are the big one-time S-Chip rewards, so it’s worth grabbing them early. They won’t respawn, but they give a nice boost when you need it most.

Main Story (X-Note) – Every stage you clear for the first time gives you 40 S-Chips, and finishing an entire episode nets another 100. Make sure to claim them from the episode page.

Anomaly – Works just like the main story. First clears give 40 S-Chips each, plus 100 for wrapping up an Anomaly episode. Again, you have to claim them on the episode page.

Legal Studies – Every debate you clear for the first time rewards 40 S-Chips. Easy, quick wins.

Trials of Themis (exploration) – These stages vary, giving anywhere from about 25 to 150 S-Chips. Clearing whole Areas will also unlock the Temple of Trials, which is a great weekly source.

Card Stories & Private Messages – Level your SR and SSR cards to unlock their stories and private messages. Not only do you get S-Chips, but you’ll boost Affection at the same time.

Fieldwork reputation, achievements, and affection rewards – These add up more than you might think. Check your reputation milestones, achievement list, affection rewards, and any mode where you’ve never claimed the first-clear prize. If it’s sitting unclaimed, grab it.

Time-limited windfalls in Tears of Themis

Keep an eye out for events, login campaigns, surveys, maintenance rewards, and redeem codes. They pop up pretty often and can easily add a few hundred or even a few thousand S-Chips to your stash in a single month. The monthly income report is a great way to see just how much they have added, and it even notes when daily sign-in bonuses randomly give you extra chips.

Spending rules that protect your stash

Try not to convert your S-Chips into Tears too early. Some banners use Special Tears, and you do not want to be caught short when your target banner finally drops. It is much safer to hold onto your S-Chips until you are ready to pull.

Avoid spending S-Chips on AP refills unless you are pushing to finish an event before it ends. AP refills are really just a convenience, and in the long run it is better to plan your daily routine so you hardly ever need them.

If you are short on time during the week, make Temple of Trials your first stop. Hit that weekly cap before you do anything else. The S-Chip income there is guaranteed and grows as you progress, so it is always worth prioritizing.

Tears of Themis rewards players who plan ahead. S-Chips might seem to come in slowly at first, but once you lock in your daily habits, clear out those big one-time rewards, and keep an eye out for event bonuses, you will be surprised at how quickly your stash grows. Spend them wisely, save for the banners you really want, and you will always have enough S-Chips ready to turn into the pulls that matter most.
