You’re back with Royal Blood. How does it connect to the original Bewitching Sinners, and what should players expect going in?

Miss Xero:
Royal Blood is set three years after the events of Bewitching Sinners. It takes place in the same world, but it’s not a direct continuation in the sense that you’re playing the same protagonist.

I wanted to explore what happens after the dust settles. A lot of stories end right after something terrible or world-changing happens, but real life doesn’t work like that. People don’t just heal and move on. They have to live inside the consequences.

What happens when power structures have shifted? What happens when people have survived something traumatic and now they have to exist in a world that remembers it?

If the first game was about being pulled into something dangerous, this one is about realizing you’re already trapped inside it.”

Did player feedback surprise you this time?

Miss Xero:
“Yes, very much. When I released Bewitching Sinners, it only really got traction after a few weeks. But with Royal Blood, it hit over a thousand downloads in less than six hours.

People were already finding it minutes after release, before I even shared it. I was just sitting there thinking, ‘Where do you guys come from? How do you even know this exists?’

Apparently people follow my itch.io page, so whenever I upload something, it notifies them. I didn’t even realize that. I feel a little stalked, but in a good way.”

How Does Royal Blood Connect to Bewitching Sinners?

Miss Xero:

Royal Blood is a standalone sequel to Bewitching Sinners. Bewitching Sinners is a little game where you get transported to another world full of witches and get to play witch hunter. Royal Blood takes place in the same world about three years after the true ending of Bewitching Sinners, but in another continent.”

“Instead of discovering witches, you’ll be discovering vampires, werewolves, sirens, feet-obsessed mermaids, cannibal birdies, and other classical mythical creatures with a little twist. It’s the same world and timeline, but a different country and a different protagonist.”

What Is the Core Premise of Royal Blood?

Miss Xero:

“Basically, it’s about a guy or gal who is in a hospital situation and has been haunted for about a year by a witch who thinks they’re their soulmate. One day, when they get the chance to meet their soulmate far away, they take it.”

“It turns into kind of a catfishing scenario with a little twist of blood magic, and you get to be a fancy royal surrounded by six strangers trying to marry you.”

The Love Interests in Bewitching Sinners: Royal Blood

Starting with Conri. He’s the newest Alpha of Kopjer’s werewolves. Someone who should be terrifying, but in the demo, he honestly feels like the “goodest of them bois.”How would you describe Conri’s core personality?
Miss Xero:

“The best way I can explain Conri’s personality is opportunistic. The worst way I can explain him is that the demon has great marketing skills. He’s very kind because he gets along with everyone, but everyone also includes people like Alexi, so I’ll let you be the judge of that. He wears a lot of faces. Goodest boy is one of them. That’s how I would explain it.

I’m not really sure why people who aren’t into werewolves like him so much, but maybe it’s because he’s gentle. Most werewolves in media are more rugged, rough alpha men, but he’s more like a sweet dog who needs a bath and a good brushing.
That said, any dog will still bite if you pet them the wrong way.
He’s good as a boy when he needs to be. I don’t want to say much more than that.”

Next is Osgar, prince of the Ravnstags and Vortec’s right-hand man. On paper, he’s regal and composed, but the demo shows flashes of intensity in the form of changing colours!. Can you tell us more about Osgar and his story?

Miss Xero:

Osgar’s archetype is kind of the cliché romance fantasy prince. Perfect hair, handsome face, very loyal to his country. But at the same time, he’s also the youngest of the bachelors, and he has that rebellious anarchy.”

“He has this side of him that’s like, why am I bending the knee to this awful man, Alexi? He just wants to be young and reckless, and that side of him shows up when he’s with the MC.”

“His route is actually one of the more branching ones. Because he has two very different sides, I kind of wrote him almost like two people.

You can steer him toward a more constrained life where he bends the knee, or you can let him be the majestic revolutionary fury he can be.”

“Either way, he’s still the same passionate, loyal young man. I want the player to choose. I don’t want to force him into one path.”

Then we have Palmier, the King of Witches, God Slayer, ex-Hunter turned Prey. In the demo, he’s playful, charming, but there’s this constant feeling that he’s three steps ahead of everyone. How do you see him as a character, considering the fact that we played as Palmier in the First Game?

Miss Xero:

“To me, the Palmier you play in Bewitching Sinners and the Palmier you meet in Royal Blood are very different, even though they share the same core values.”

“The Palmier you played in the first game is like someone who went to therapy, accepted themselves, and got their shit together.”

“The Palmier you see in Royal Blood is someone who is drowning in self-hatred. He’s someone who never belonged, and despite how much he tried, he never became the companion he wanted to be.”

“Every attempt he makes to find companionship or peace ends with something going wrong. Someone suffers. Someone dies. A god dies. An island gets ruined.

“On the outside, he looks like someone trying to play god, but he’s fully aware that he’s just playing, and it’s a game he will never win.”

“For me, Palmier is about intention versus action. Does intention matter more than outcome? If your thoughts are bad but your actions benefit society, does that still make you bad?”

Let’s move to Ivar, the Witch of Beauty. For players of the first game, he’s already a loaded name: a soulmate, a curse, and a source of trauma. In Royal Blood, we see him again, but things are… different. How would you describe the Ivar we meet in this sequel?

Miss Xero:

“To me, the real Ivar is still a cranky old man. He was written as a JILF in Bewitching Sinners and he will remain so in Royal Blood.”

“He’s still misandrous, and he’s still the guy who will probably kill you on the spot, especially if you are playing the male MC.”

“If you’re a girl and you’re polite, he’ll probably make you some tea and share wartime stories with you.”

“He’s tired of getting dragged into shit, but if you get past his walls, he will love you until the end of time, because he can’t love in any other way.”

“He will interact very differently depending on whether you play a male or female character. If he falls in love with a man, there are a lot of things from his past that need to be settled.”

“His story is about coming to terms with your past and moving forward without regrets.”

And then there’s Till, the siren prince whose presence is tied to feet in many different shapes, sizes, smells, and various rich and a bit disturbing descriptions. At first glance, he’s gentle and ethereal, but he radiates “crazy”. Who is Till beneath the surface?

Miss Xero:

“Unfortunately, he’s still mostly crazy. If you’re looking for deep, I’m sad to say this man is a puddle.”

“That said, his obsession does have a reason. If you look at his art when he first appears, you can see a hint in the size difference between his fins.”

“I think he will relate well to younger players who yearn for freedom and don’t want to deal with society’s pressure, competition, and responsibilities.”

“Till is supposed to make you laugh, whether that’s genuine laughter or discomfort. Either way, I’ll take it as a win.”

“He is a love interest. He’s just a little out there. His goal is to let you switch off your brain and have fun.”

So, about Winston. Actually, neither me nor Lover’s Lense encountered him during our playthroughs. Can you tell us more about his character and what his route will be centered on?
Miss Xero:

“He’s the hardest to meet technically, because you have to sneak into Alexi’s library.”

“There are six different ways to get past the guards.”

“He’s an old nerd who thinks he’s a badass hero, but sadly, you’re the villain he’s trying to take down.”

“It’s an enemies-to-lovers route, and it’s about frustration, denial, and struggling with feelings you don’t want to have.”

Your comic-inspired style is very noticeable again in Royal Blood. Can you talk about what inspired your visuals and how you approached the art for the demo?

Miss Xero:

“I work in the webtoon industry, so I’m more accustomed to drawing manhwa panels. To be honest, those are a lot easier for me than doing full splash CGs. When I think about doing full-window art, I’m like, this is going to take forever.”

“Drawing panels lets me make scenes more dynamic, because I can add more movement and angles even if it’s the same event. That’s why you see that style so much in the demo.”

“My big dream is actually to do frame-by-frame animation for my later works. I’m experimenting with that for another game I’m working on, but that’s still very far away. That’s kind of the goal.”

The demo is massive and full of branching paths. What has been the biggest challenge during development?

Miss Xero:

“The biggest challenge is keeping track of the branches, making sure choices actually have weight. I don’t want choices to just be flavor text. I want actions to have reactions that affect the overall environment.”

“For example, depending on how well you explore the town and talk to people, you can unlock three more methods to sneak upstairs into Alexi’s room.”

“I really wanted a butterfly effect, but that also means I have to keep track of the butterfly effect, which means a lot of diagrams.”

The community response has been intense, with essays and theories everywhere. What feedback stood out to you the most?

Miss Xero:

“The essays and theories really helped me see if I conveyed the story well enough, so that people understand where the story is going without actually concluding where it’s going.”

“I want to see if I lured them in the right direction or if they went astray. So far, I’m really happy with that.”

EXCLUSIVE CONTENT: Returning Characters from Bewitching Sinners

Miss Xero:

“You’ll definitely see a lot more familiar faces from Bewitching Sinners than you think.”

“The twin quartet from the original game will be back. Maybe not all in the same room, but you’ll see what they’ve been doing for the past three years.”

“You’ll especially see a certain bubbly redhead.”

With Bewitching Sinners: Royal Blood, Miss Xero isn’t trying to soften the edges or play it safe. She’s building a world where choices hurt, love is dangerous, and consequences linger long after the screen fades to black. It’s a game made with stubbornness, spite, tenderness, and an almost alarming amount of care, the kind that comes from someone who genuinely believes stories should leave a mark.

Whether you’re here for the politics, the monsters, the messy men, or the emotional devastation you swear you won’t fall for again, Royal Blood makes one thing clear: this is a story that wants you to feel something, even if that something is regret.

And if the demo is any indication, Miss Xero isn’t done breaking hearts anytime soon, she’s just getting better at it.
