Tears of Themis AP/Stamina Management
AP is basically the lifeblood of Tears of Themis. Every investigation you run, every upgrade you chase, it all runs on AP. Learning how to stretch those points not only keeps your deck growing stronger but also makes events a lot less stressful. We’ve put together this straightforward guide to help you make the most of your stamina, covering the latest systems, smart habits, and a few tricks I wish I knew earlier.
Table of Contents

AP basics (know these numbers)
Regen rate: You get 1 AP every 6 minutes (so about 10 per hour). It adds up pretty quickly, but the trick is not letting your bar overflow. Nothing feels worse than wasting free AP.
Daily/weekly reset: Most things reset at 4:00 AM UTC+9, and big events or new banners usually drop at 11:00 AM UTC+9. If you can, try to spend down your AP before that reset so you don’t miss out.
AP cap grows with level: As you level up, your max AP bar also goes up, eventually hitting around 160 AP at higher levels. That extra wiggle room makes it a lot easier to hoard or time your spending.

Ways to refill AP
S-Chips to AP: You can trade 20 S-Chips for 60 AP, but honestly, try not to rely on this too much. S-Chips are precious for pulls, so it’s better to save them unless you’re really in a pinch during an event.
AP items (a.k.a. Energy Drinks):
- Basic Pack = 30 AP
- Family Pack = 60 AP
- Party Pack = 120 AP
- Festive Hot Drink = 30 AP (usually tied to events)
These little boosts show up all over the place—events, the shop, gifts, and daily logins—so keep an eye on your inventory. They’re perfect for topping off when you want just a bit more farming or need to squeeze in those last event runs.

What to spend AP on first (priority order)
Legal Studies (Business/Operations): This is where you grab the essentials: Stellin and Oracle of Justice. Since the runs are limited each day, it’s always worth spending your AP here first so you don’t miss out.
Anomaly stages: These are capped daily too, and they’re the main way to farm card fragments. Skipping them means losing out on long-term deck growth, so make sure you clear them before anything else.
Temple of Trials: Each run costs 30 AP, but it’s your ticket to weekly S-Chips. Once you unlock higher tiers through the Trials of Themis, plan out enough runs during the week to hit your cap, it adds up fast.
Main Story / Character Stories: Progress here as much as your deck can handle. When things start getting tough, loop back to Legal Studies and Anomaly to strengthen your cards before pushing forward again.

Daily/weekly AP routines (copy this)
Daily routine
- Start with Business and Operations in Legal Studies, they’re day-limited, so don’t put them off.
- Next, knock out your Anomaly runs for fragments (also day-limited).
- Whatever AP you’ve got left, drop it into the story or farm whatever mats you’re running low on.
Weekly routine
- Make sure you squeeze in enough Temple of Trials runs to hit your weekly S-Chip quota. If you’re busy, you can save up AP drinks and clear it in one or two longer sessions.
Little end-of-week tip
- Before you log off on Sunday night (or really, any night before reset), spend down your AP bar. That way it can start refilling while you sleep, and you won’t wake up to a capped bar wasting free regen.

When to use S-Chips or pots for AP
Always burn through your Energy Drinks first. They are basically free AP and sometimes come with expiry dates, so better to use them than lose them.
Try to save your S-Chips for pulls, unless you are in one of these situations:
- There is a limited-time event with shop currencies locked behind AP farming and you are falling short.
- You are a light spender and need that extra AP to finish your Temple of Trials weekly cap or grab important Anomaly fragments.
And if you do end up buying AP with S-Chips, go in small bursts (20 S-Chips → 60 AP). That way you are topping up just enough without risking an overcap.

Little Optimizations that Make a Big Difference
Log in twice a day during events. Spend your AP once, then come back a few hours later after some regen. This way you are not sitting capped and wasting free stamina.
Do your day-limited stuff first. Legal Studies and Anomaly clears should always come before story runs. Think of story as your “leftover AP” dump.
Know your reset time. The game resets at 4:00 AM UTC+9, so figure out what that means in your local time. Try to spend your AP before then so you start the new day fresh.
Batch your Temple runs. Since each one costs 30 AP, it is easier to knock them out in one or two longer sessions instead of spreading them thin. That way you hit your weekly S-Chip quota without overthinking it.
Unlock NXX Headquarters (Story 04-02). Always grab your Resource Requisition there. It gives you passive mats and saves you from wasting AP farming them.

Managing AP in Tears of Themis might feel like a small detail, but it’s one of those things that quietly shapes your whole experience. When you’re careful about where it goes, you’ll find yourself progressing faster, staying on top of events, and avoiding that “why didn’t I do this sooner” regret. Whether it’s timing your resets, knocking out the daily-limited runs first, or saving those precious S-Chips, a little planning goes a long way. With these habits in place, you’ll always be ready for the next big event or banner without stressing over wasted stamina.
